We’ve made it to the weekend. Here are some ways to spend it if you aren’t attending the NCAA men’s basketball tournament hosted by Duquesne at PPG Paints Arena, Uptown.

Eggstravaganza

The National Aviary on the North Side is hosting Eggstravaganza from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Guests can take part in an egg-themed scavenger hunt. The Easter bunny will be available for photos between 10:15 a.m. and 2 p.m. A meet and greet is at 1 p.m. with an animal ambassador in the Helen M. Schmidt FliteZone Theater.

Tickets are $18.95 for adults, $17.95 for seniors, $15.95 for children. Children under 2 are free.

Story telling

When somebody hacked into Councilwoman Bethany Hallam’s computer, life got weird. When Muhammad Ali Nasir was jailed for something he didn’t do, life got weird.

When attorney Heather Heidelbaugh was informed a distant relative whom she’d never met had suddenly reappeared, life got weird.

All this weirdness will be explores at a storytelling event, hosted by John McIntire, at the Parkway Theater & Film Lounge in McKees Rocks.

The event begins at 8 p.m. on Saturday. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Film festival

The Pittsburgh Japanese Film Festival continues this weekend featuring new and classic films coming out of Japan with Pittsburgh film premieres, and a special focus on Japanese horror films from the 1960s, ‘70s and modern classics.

Held each spring at Row House Cinema in Lawrenceville, the festival includes films from a variety of genres and popular events.

Some of the movies are “Blue Giant,” “Baby Assassins 2,” “The First Slam Dunk,” “Ringu with ScareHouse” and “Future Boy Conan.”

Tickets are $13.61.

Jazzy

Award-winning vocalist Jazzmeia Horn will be performing at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. at MCG Jazz on Saturday on the North Side. Horn showcases her perception of the world through a combination of spoken world and musical segments.

Presented in partnership with Women Who Rock, a portion of the proceeds from the performances will go to women’s health research at Magee-Womens Research Institute.

Tickets start at $55.

Tom Petty brunch

City Winery is hosting a Tom Petty Brunch at noon on Saturday.

The event celebrates Petty’s legacy with songs such as “Breakdown,” “American Girl,” “Refugee,” “The Waiting,” “Learning to Fly” and “Mary Jane’s Last Dance.”

Pittsburgh recording artist Radio 45 crafted a 90-minute showcase of Petty’s music.

Tickets are $20 to $30.
