Disney debuts 'Mandalorian' Season 2 trailer
Just when we needed it most, Disney delivered a Season 2 trailer for its mega hit series “The Mandalorian” on Tuesday.
Din Djarin (aka “Mando”) and The Child (aka “Baby Yoda”) are back — this time with the bounty hunter (Pedro Pascal) getting his latest mission statement: Reunite the child with its own kind.
As a clue, the Armorer tells Mando of tales of great battles between Mandalore the Great and an order of sorcerers called Jedi.
“You expect me to search the galaxy and deliver this creature to a race of enemy sorcerers?” Din asks.
“This is the way,” she tells him.
All the while, of course, avoiding Imperial Remnant officer Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito).
Showrunner and show writer Jon Favreau told Entertainment Weekly the second season will branch out beyond the first season’s core characters.
“The new season is about introducing a larger story in the world,” Favreau told EW. “The stories become less isolated, yet each episode has its own flavor, and hopefully we’re bringing a lot more scope to the show.
“As we introduce other characters, there are opportunities to follow different storylines.”
Yahoo reports the season’s directors will include Favreau, Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa, Bryce Dallas Howard, Carl Weathers, Peyton Reed and Robert Rodriguez.
New characters this season have been reported to include Rosario Dawson — as fan-favorite Ahsoka Tano (from “The Clone Wars”) and Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett.
The show was nominated for 15 Emmy awards in July, including Outstanding Drama Series.
LucasFilm’s series will premiere Oct. 30 on Disney+.
