Jennifer Aniston said recently that she was drawn to creating a new TV show, because she wasn’t seeing much good stuff in the theaters and put some of the blame on Marvel.

In an interview with Variety for the Power of Women issue, Aniston spoke about her new series “The Morning Show,” which also stars Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell and premieres Nov. 1 on Apple TV+, and why she returned to work on a TV series.

In her interview she talked about how she saw a lot of quality work on streaming services, but not so much in theaters.

While streaming services have good work, with the movies, she said, “And then you’re seeing what’s available out there and it’s just diminishing and diminishing in terms of, it’s big Marvel movies.”

She also said she’s not interested “in living in a green screen.”

She continues that the movie industry has changed a lot, but wishes for a comeback of a certain type of movie.

“It’s changed so much. I think we would so love to have the era of Meg Ryan come back. I just think it would be nice to go into a movie theater, sit cozy. I think we should have a resurgence.”

She then lists some examples, “Let’s get the ‘Terms of Endearment’ back out there. You know, ‘Heaven Can Wait,’ ‘Young Frankenstein,’ ‘Blazing Saddles,’ ‘Goodbye Girl.’”

The comments were not taken well by fans of the MCU, as users took to Twitter to express some thoughts.
