TV Talk: CBS slots Pittsburgh-set ‘Watson’
CBS’s Pittsburgh-set medical-investigative drama, “Watson,” will debut at 10 p.m. Jan. 26 following CBS’s coverage of the NFL’s AFC Championship Game (start time is approximate after post-game coverage).
Actor Morris Chestnut stars as Dr. John Watson, who, a year after the death of best friend Sherlock Holmes, resumes his medical career at Pittsburgh’s Holmes clinic, which is dedicated to the treatment of rare diseases.
Chestnut and a small crew were in Pittsburgh in June to film scenes that will be inserted in episodes. The bulk of the filming for “Watson” is ongoing in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Squirrel Hill native Craig Sweeny (“Elementary,” “Limitless”) created “Watson,” wrote the premiere episode and serves as showrunner.
