Just in time for the holidays, the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh is opening over 20 new exhibits.

They are part of two overarching exhibitions: Bricksburgh, an art- and engineering-themed experience stocked with thousands of building bricks, and USS Requin Gateway, a series of artifacts and interactive exhibits connected to the Cold War-era submarine along the Ohio River.

Among them is an Architecture Challenge in which participants select from images of famous architectural structures from around the world, and then create a brick-based representation of that structure.

There’s also a car construction exhibit called drag race in which participants test out designs on ramps with built-in timers.

Exhibits connected to the USS Requin include the U.S. Navy Mark V Dive Suit, circa 1950, where the Mark V diving rig invented in 1916 and used until 1984 allows divers to work at previously unreachable depths.

There is a video tour that takes visitors through the sub’s passageways and compartments and a virtual periscope exploring a 360-degree view of the Pittsburgh Skyline in daylight and at night, from the perspective of the periscope mounted high above Requin’s decks.

Both exhibitions are included in general admission.
