Veteran country music radio host Cadillac Jack will take over the Y108 morning show.

Audacy Inc. knew it would have a hard time finding a successor to popular WDSY-FM (Y108) morning show host “Stoney” Richards when he departed last December.

And the company was right. Now, after a six-month search, Y108 has its new host.

Audacy announced Thursday, it has hired country music radio veteran Cadillac Jack to host the “Y’d Awake” morning show weekdays beginning July 11.

Cadillac Jack has built up an impressive resume and will move to Pittsburgh from Ft. Myers, Florida where he has been hosting the morning program at WHEL-FM and serving as assistant program director. Before that he was a morning show host for WITL-FM in Lansing, MI and has worked at country stations in Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Tampa and Audacy’s WYCD in Detroit.

Cadillac Jack is a multiple-time nominee for the Academy of Country Music’s “On-Air Personality of the Year” and CMA’s “Broadcast Personality of the Year” awards.

“I am beyond excited to join Audacy and Y108 in Pittsburgh,” he said. “It’s a great opportunity to be in an incredible city with an amazing staff and work for this incredible company.”

Audacy senior vice-president and market manager Michael Spacciapolli said he’s excited to welcome Cadillac Jack to Pittsburgh. The station did not divulge his full name. He identifies himself on Facebook as Tom Kapsalis, with a post that says “So Excited. Heading North Today!” and includes a link to a press release about the new job in Pittsburgh.

“Cadillac Jack brings an energy and engagement that country fans in Pittsburgh will love,” said Spacciapolli. “As Y108 continues to grow as a leading country outlet on a variety of platforms, welcoming a talent like Cadillac will add to our evolution and growth.”

The “Y’d Awake” morning show airs weekdays from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m.
