Blues singer and former Pittsburgh resident Billy Price will kick off a year-long tour in support of his new album with a release party Aug. 9 at Club Café.
Price returned to Greaseland Studio in San José, Calif., with producer Kid Andersen, to create a follow-up to his previous album, the Blues Music Award-nominated “Reckoning.”
Featuring 12 tunes and eight originals, “Dog Eat Dog” features collaborations with Price’s keyboard player Jim Britton, French guitarist Fred Chapellier and “Reckoning” writer Bill Troiani.
Price has recorded 17 albums and DVDs in addition to his early work with blues guitarist Roy Buchanan and his 2016 collaboration with late Chicago soul singer Otis Clay, “This Time For Real.”
Below, see Price’s April 2019 performance in Columbia, Md., with the Charm City Rhythm Band.
After the release show at Club Café, Price will make stops Aug. 24 at Club XL Live in Harrisburg, Aug. 25 at the Corks & Kegs Festival in Washington, Aug. 30 at 565 Live in Bellevue, and Aug. 31 at Portogallo Peppers N’at in Braddock. After a quick stop in Virginia, he will play Moondogs in Blawnox on Sept. 13 and Enix Brewing Co. in Homestead on Sept. 14.
“Dog Eat Dog” will be released Aug. 2.
