Bret Michaels to bring Parti Gras Tour to Star Lake in 2023
Bret Michaels makes no secret of his love for the Pittsburgh area and can’t seem to get enough when it comes to performing here.
Fresh off this year’s extensive stadium tour with his band Poison — including an August performance at PNC Park – Michaels has announced he will perform a solo show July 15 at The Pavilion at Star Lake. The show is part of a limited run of live dates for his “2023 Parti Gras Tour.”
The Mardi Gras-themed tour will include special guests Night Ranger and Jefferson Starship with appearances from former Journey lead singer Steve Augeri and Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath.
“I create Parti-Gras as a sincere and grateful thank you to the fans, friends and family who have rocked with me over the years,” Michaels, a Butler native, said in a news release. “I promise to deliver positive energy, live, raw, real music and all the bands will deliver sing-a-long hit after hit songs. Your voice will be hoarse after an epic, big, fun stage show.”
Michaels and Poison performed an intense show at PNC Park last August that included hit songs such as “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” “Nothing but a Good Time,” “Talk Dirty to Me,” and “Ride the Wind.” The lineup for that concert included Motley Crue, Def Leppard and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.
“After seeing Bret bring the party in every market of The Stadium Tour this past year, we are looking forward to more of his ‘nothing but a good vibe, high-energy performing’ on the Parti Gras Tour next summer,” Live Nation’s Rick Franks said.
A self-described “yinzer rocker,” Michaels, 59, is a proud Steelers fan who often twirls a Terrible Towel on stage. A custom-made Gibson guitar he dedicated to the Steelers is on display at the Hard Rock Café at Station Square in Pittsburgh.
