Alligator Records recording artist Tinsley Ellis is bringing his substantial guitar chops to Moondog’s in Blawnox in early June.

Ellis is touring in support of his latest record, “Winning Hand,” which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s blues chart.

“Guitar, guitar, guitar is what this album is all about,” says Ellis, who recorded primarily with his 1959 Fender Stratocaster, his 1967 Gibson ES 345 and his 1973 Les Paul Deluxe.

“Winning Hand” is made up of nine original songs and one cover, Leon Russell’s “Dixie Lullaby.”

Ellis will perform June 8, 8 p.m. at Moondog’s, 378 Freeport Road in Blawnox. Tickets are $17 in advance and $20 at the door.

Below, hear Ellis’s “Gamblin’ Man,” from “Winning Hand.”
