It’s didn’t take long for former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr and His All Starr band to find a date to reschedule their Pittsburgh concert originally set for this Saturday at PPG Paints Arena.
Five days after announcing the postponement of the show because two of his band members tested positive for covid, Ringo and company said they will now play at PPG Paints Arena on Saturday, Sept. 10.
All tickets purchased for the June 18 show will be honored for the rescheduled date.
The fall leg of the tour now begins Sept. 5 in Lenox, Mass. and ends on Oct. 20 in Mexico City
According to an announcement on Starr’s website band members Edgar Winter and Steve Lukather both tested positive for covid, Winter on June 7 and Lukather last Saturday, leading to the decision to postpone all of the band’s remaining June tour dates.
The band was about halfway through its 22-show run.
“We were having so much fun playing again it was disappointing to have to stop,” said Starr. “But we were able to reschedule these shows and add them to our Fall tour – and so as the song goes – I’ll see you in September! Peace and love, Ringo.”
It was the second time in two years that Starr and his band had to postpone a Pittsburgh show. Starr and his supergroup were originally scheduled for a June 20, 2020 date in the Steel City that was delayed because of the pandemic. In addition to Winter and Lukather, the All Starr band consists of Colin Hay, Warren Ham, Gregg Bisonette and Hamish Stuart.
