Storm forces Evanescence to cancel Pittsburgh show
A Pittsburgh tour stop by the rock band Evanescence is among the cultural casualties of the major winter storm in Western Pennsylvania.
The group’s concert, scheduled for Monday night at 7 p.m. at the Petersen Events Center on the University of Pittsburgh campus, has been canceled. Evanescence performed Sunday in Camden, N.J., but road conditions made it impossible for them to travel to Pittsburgh in time for the show.
The band Halestorm was scheduled to be the opening act.
Evanescence made the announcement on Twitter.

“Hey Pittsburgh, we’re sorry to tell you that due to Winter Storm Izzy, The PA Dept. of Transportation has announced the closure of the interstate. As a result, we are unable to make it there for (Monday) night’s show. We’re gutted to miss you!” read the statement.
“We’ll make it up to you on the next one. Please look for information in your in-box re: ticket refunds and please stay safe out there!”
Evanescence was founded in Little Rock, Ark., in 1995 by singer, pianist and keyboardist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody.
The band is touring in support of “The Bitter Truth,” its first album of original music in a decade.
