Pittsburgh CLO has postponed all scheduled in-person performances until 2021, citing “uncertainties and risks related to the ongoing health crisis.”

Postponed shows includes the previously scheduled fall Kara Cabaret productions of “Dixie’s Tupperware Party” and “Untitled.” The annual production of “A Musical Christmas Carol” at the Byham Theater will be presented in virtual form, with details to be announced later.

Newly announced 2021 performance dates include:

• “Puffs,” May 13-Aug. 1

• “Jersey Boys,” June 1-6

• “Kinky Boots,” June 15-20

• “A Chorus Line,” June 22-27

• “The Drowsy Chaperone,” July 6-11

• “Sister Act,” July 20-25

• “Godspell,” Aug. 3-8

• “Dixie’s Tupperware Party,” Sept. 8-Oct. 17

• “Untitled,” Oct. 28-Dec. 5

• “A Musical Christmas Carol,” Dec. 10-23

The annual Gene Kelly Awards for Excellence in High School Musical Theater will be presented on May 29.

“We are heartbroken to have to postpone the rest of this year’s shows. This will have serious effects on our organization and the livelihood of our theater community of actors, musicians, costumers, stagehands,” says CEO Van Kaplan. “Think of the jobs and income lost. We are rallying with online programming, but long to be in a theater again soon with our live audiences.”

“Although in-person performances have been paused, Pittsburgh CLO has been steadfast in efforts to serve the community. Perhaps most exciting has been finding a way to make sure families and schools can enjoy a very special virtual version of ‘A Musical Christmas Carol,’” according to a release. “After 28 years, the holidays would not be the same without this Pittsburgh tradition.”

Since March, Pittsburgh CLO has been offering virtual classes and a web series featuring interviews with past CLO stars and other Pittsburgh performing artists.

Patrons who have already purchased tickets or reserved group tickets for the shows listed can visit pittsburghclo.org for more information.

“Tickets for ‘Dixie’s Tupperware Party’ and ‘Untitled’ will automatically be transferred to the same day of the week, one year later,” says Cindy Opatick, associate producer. “For example, if you had tickets for Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020, they would be transferred to Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021.”

Patrons also can call 412-281-2822 or email questions to ticketdept@pittsburghclo.org.
