The Brick Burger pop-up restaurant is coming to Penn Brewery Nov. 11-12 on Pittsburgh’s North Side. The two-day happening is sold out.

The Brick Burger pop-up establishment is popping up in a new location.

A Lego-themed restaurant that was supposed to be at R Wine Cellar in Downtown Pittsburgh on Saturday and Sunday had to scramble to find a new spot. Members of Hidden Media Network, the company bringing Brick Burger to the Burgh, contacted Penn Brewery on Pittsburgh’s North Side earlier this week.

A call to R Wine Cellar said to email for comment, but no one from the establishment responded.

“It was a last-minute thing,” said Lisa Vogt, one of Penn Brewery’s office managers. “They reached out to see if we would be able to handle it.”

Vogt and her colleague and office manager Amy Huseman met with the chef and formed a team to host Brick Burger, which is sold out — there are seven sessions of 80 people each.

The event will be housed in a banquet hall on the second floor of Penn Brewery. A $47 ticket is good for two sliders —hamburger, pulled chicken or black bean burger, fries and a soft drink.

Inside the child-friendly space will be colorful brick walls, and brick-themed furniture. Guests are invited to create their own Lego masterpiece at a building station.

“At Brick Burger, we believe that food should be fun, and we’ve created a dining experience that truly reflects that,” said a press release said from Hidden Media Network, which is based in Australia.

This is one of several experiences Hidden Media Network has brought to Pittsburgh. The most recent was the Burton Bar located inside Mixtape in Garfield last month. That will also be the location for the return of the Tipsy Elf, which opens Nov. 22. There also was a Peter-Pan-themed pop-up bar located in the former Hough’s Taproom in Greenfield in January of 2022.

Penn Brewery received a delivery Friday morning of some of the pieces needed to put it all together, which included brick-formed buns for the sliders.

“This is a busy time of the year for us with parties and other events but we are going to make it happen,” Vogt said. “We host lots of events here so we are well-versed in how to put on something like this. It should be fun. We would love to host other events like this.”

Note: Lego does not sponsor, authorize or endorse the event.
