The shuttered Redbeard’s Bar & Grill on Mt. Washington will open as a new dining spot next year.
Shiloh Plate & Pour will replace Redbeard’s in April 2025, according to a social media post.
“The new establishment promises an exciting transformation of this iconic space into a must-visit destination for locals and visitors alike,” the post reads.
The Facebook post said long-time friends and business partners Joey DeMarco and Brian Hess are doing a re-brand of the space with new kitchen equipment and menu as well as “a vibrant atmosphere designed to elevate every dining and entertainment experience.”
“Mount Washington is a special place for both of us,” said Joey DeMarco in the social media post. “This is where our friendship began, and now we get to bring it full circle. To come back here as partners and breathe new life into this space—it’s a dream come true. We can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve got in store.”
Current employees will stay on board to ensure a smooth transition, while new team members are set to join as the restaurant evolves, according to the post.
“This isn’t just a bar or restaurant—it’s going to be a great place to gather for the community,” Hess said in the post. “Shiloh Plate & Pour will be where people gather to celebrate everything Pittsburgh—whether it’s for a Steelers, Penguins, or Pirates game, a meal with friends, or just soaking up the amazing energy and culture of the city.”
A Facebook message to Shiloh Plate & Pour wasn’t returned.
Redbeard’s, which has been at 201 Shiloh St. on Mt. Washington for three decades, closed on Dec. 21. The Downtown location at 144 6th St. remains open.
