Homer Laughlin China Co. has introduced a sign of spring during the darkest time of winter.

In what has become an annual rite of early January, the maker of Fiesta dinnerware announced its newest color — Meadow, a light green — Tuesday morning from the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market.

“Meadow is a soothing hue that complements a wide range of colors in the Fiesta color family,” Rich Brinkman, Homer Laughlin vice president of sales and marketing, told Home Furnishings News. “It is a color that’s incredibly earthy and easy to live with.”

Meadow is the 51st Fiesta color since the brand was launched in 1936. Since Fiesta’s reintroduction in 1986, the colorful dinnerware line has become a pop culture icon — seen in movies such as “A Christmas Story” and TV shows such as “Gilmore Girls” and “Two and a Half Men.”

Like other standard Fiesta dinnerware pieces, Meadow will be available in three- and four-piece sets, three-piece Bistro place settings, and a variety of plates, platters, bowls, mugs, the signature disk pitcher and serving pieces, the company said.

Homer Laughlin retired Sage from its lineup of 14 signature colors to make way for Meadow, which will be available for sale by mid-June.

The company, based in Newell, W.Va., is the largest remaining manufacturer of American-made dinnerware.
