For today’s TribLive Taste Test, we abandon the tasting and go straight to the toes!

That’s right, it’s a TribLive Toe Test, as staff writer Patrick Varine tries out NakeFit L’Originale, adhesive foot pads that allow the wearer to enjoy the outdoors “barefoot” with what the company bills as a “nearly impenetrable” layer between your feet and the massive number of thistles in the front yard.

NakeFit says wearers can enjoy hours of walking using the pads, whether camping, at the beach or just taking a walk.

We tested them in a front yard still a little damp with morning dew, and on the sidewalk … and that was about as far as we got before we started running into some issues.

A three-pack of NakeFit pads is currently available for $14.99.
