1 in custody, 1 at large following shooting in Oakland
Officers investigating a report of shots being fired early Tuesday in Oakland arrested one person on weapons charges, while a second person remains at large, police said.
Police said they received a ShotSpotter alert that eight shots had been fired on Chauncey Drive around 2:45 a.m. They did not say whether they found any evidence of a shooting at the scene.
Responding officers received information that a vehicle containing possible suspects had left the area, police said. Police said they tracked down the vehicle and pulled it over at Centre Avenue and North Craig Street.
Police said they found a gun in the vehicle and arrested the driver on weapons charges. A passenger ran into a nearby parking garage and could not be found.
The driver, who was not identified, is being held in Allegheny County Jail, while the passenger remained at large, police said.
