2 suspects in violent crimes this week now charged in fatal Ohio Township shooting Aug. 2
Two men charged in unrelated incidents earlier in the week both face brand new homicide charges in connection with an Aug. 2 shooting in Ohio Township, Allegheny County Police said.
Emmanuel C. Houghton, 19, of Carnegie was arrested Wednesday night after an hourslong police standoff in Monongahela, following an incident in which he’s accused of shooting at police from a stolen vehicle.
Tyler M. Stewart, 22, of McKeesport, was also arrested Wednesday night after police say he attempted a carjacking and caused a crash during a vehicle chase in Beltzhoover. Police said Stewart was wearing body armor.
On Friday, Allegheny County Police detectives charged both men with homicide, robbery and weapons violations in connection with a fatal Aug. 2 shooting on Ben Avon Heights Road in Ohio Township.
Police said they believed Nathan Jordan Ross Geiger, 18, was targeted in the attack where he was shot in the torso and later died.
Houghton and Stewart, already in the Allegheny County Jail after being arrested Wednesday, are awaiting arraignment on the new charges.
