Three members have been selected from the six candidates running for Oakmont council. According to Allegheny County Office of Elections unofficial election results, Nancy Ride, Jennifer Paris and Deborah Ormay will each serve four-year terms.

Ride has been reelected for a second term on the board with 1,546 votes. She hopes to continue her work to maintain the borough’s infrastructure.

Ormay and Paris, with 1,382 and 1,410 votes, respectively, will be serving on the council for the first time. Paris emphasized making residents’ mental health a priority, and Ormay said that her goal is to help maintain Oakmont’s walkability.

“It hasn’t quite sunk in yet, but I am ready to serve the people of Oakmont the best that I can,” Ormay said. “I want to keep Oakmont a livable community with an eye to sustainability so future residents can say that Oakmont is a great place to live.”

The Democrats and the Republicans were equally represented, with three candidates from each party, according to the Allegheny County Office of Elections unofficial candidate list.

Republicans Mark Springer, David Graver and Al Hatok received 1,250, 1,092 and 1,044 votes, respectively.
