A woman and a child locked themselves in an upstairs bedroom in Pittsburgh’s North Side early Saturday morning when three men allegedly broke into their residence.

Pittsburgh police responded to reports of three men breaking into a home in the 900 block of California Avenue in the California-Kirkbride section of Pittsburgh at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police said officers arrived on scene and communicated with the woman through a window. Police then forced entry into the residence.

Police said they encountered two men and took them into custody. About half an hour later, police used a drone and found another man on the roof. He was also eventually taken into custody.

D’Mon Brown, 23, Levar Chapman, 27, and Daemon Choat, 22, all of Pittsburgh, were arrested by Pittsburgh police.

They face felony burglary and criminal trespass charges, as well as a summary criminal mischief charge. Choat faces additional misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and evading arrest.

All three men were taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
