Allegheny County reports 73 new coronavirus cases, 4 additional deaths

Allegheny County on Friday reported 73 new cases of covid-19, bringing the total to 12,527 cases since March.

Of the new cases, 70 are confirmed from 1,298 PCR tests, according to the Allegheny County Health Department. Three cases are listed as probable.

Four new deaths were reported in the county. They occurred between Sept. 21 and 23. One person was in their 60s, two in their 80s and one was over age 100, according to the heath department.

The county has had a total of 1,218 hospitalizations and 386 deaths related to the coronavirus since March. A total of 317 patients were admitted to intensive care units and 123 required ventilators.

In the county, 181,091 people have been tested.

The newly reported cases break down into these age groups:

0-4: 4 cases.

5-12: 1 cases.

13-18: 3 cases.

19-24: 11 cases.

25-49: 31 cases.

50-64: 18 cases.

65 and over: 5 cases.
