The Allegheny County SWAT team convinced a man who had multiple warrants out for his arrest to peacefully exit a Wilkins Township house where he had barricaded himself for more than an hour.

Wilkins police requested assistance from the county SWAT team around 12:20 p.m. in the 500 block of Tongalucas Street, according to a county police statement. Officials believed the man to be armed inside the residence.

Police negotiated with the man and convinced him to exit the residence around 1:30 p.m. The man is in Wilkins police custody.

Tongalucas Street and nearby Ivy Street were closed during the incident, but have since been reopened.
