The musical version of “The Addams Family” is coming to Bethel Park High School.

High school presents ‘Addams Family’

Bethel Park High School presents the musical “The Addams Family” at 7 p.m. March 15-18.

Tickets are $10 per ticket, plus fees, and will be sold exclusively through the school district’s website, starting March 1, at www.bpsd.org/Musical.aspx.

As has long been the case at Bethel Park, “The Addams Family” will have two casts. Junior Noah Stiglich and senior Nick Dell will play Gomez Addams. Juniors Clara McGough and Alea Taylor will play his wife, Morticia. Seniors Anthony Hughes and Dylan Finnell will be Uncle Fester. Wednesday Addams will be portrayed by junior Meghan DeHaven and senior Elizabeth Robinson.

The dance captains are seniors Alayna Banks and Aubrey Manion, while the student directors are seniors AnnaMarie Lorenzi and Natalie Sager.

Club hosts Audubon speaker

The Ruthfred Acres Woman’s Club will meet at noon March 14 at the Crowne Plaza Suites Pittsburgh South, 164 Fort Couch Road, for lunch and a presentation by Chris Kubiak of the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania. His subject will be the majestic American bald eagle.

Bethel Art Guild meeting

Bethel Art Guild will meet on March 2 at the Bethel Park Community Center, 5151 Park Ave.

A light lunch at 12:30 p.m. is followed by a business meeting and presentation by guest speaker Sue Levy, a painter since age 5 who teaches watercolor to adult beginners and intermediate students.

She graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in commercial art and fashion Illustration, and then continued to study with many art instructors locally, nationally and internationally.

Guests and new members are invited to attend the meeting.

‘Amazing Grace Race’ scheduled

The Acting Up Club at South Hills Church of the Nazarene will present its next musical, “The Amazing Grace Race,” at 6 p.m. April 29 and 30.

The performances will be held at the church, 5601 Library Road, Bethel Park. All are welcome to attend. Admission is free, and a cookie reception will follow to meet and greet the performers and staff.

Steering committee members sought

Bethel Park has formed a new economic development steering committee and is seeking members.

Residents with banking, real estate, business operations or redevelopment experience are encouraged to apply. The committee needs a minimum of five members for terms of two to three years.

Spring Art Show at Galleria

A Spring Art Show is scheduled from April 14-23 at the Galleria of Mt. Lebanon, 1500 Washington Road. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Participating are groups including South Arts Pittsburgh, Bethel Art Guild, McMurray Art League, Photographic Section and Primary Colors. Artwork and photos are framed and ready for display at home or as a gift. Cards and matted prints also are available. Cash, checks or credit cards are accepted.
