Bethel Park plans Halloween activities

Bethel Park’s annual Spooktacular Parade will be held at 9 a.m. Oct. 29.
A variety of special vehicles will travel throughout the municipality, providing candy to parade goers along the way.
Two parade routes are featured.
The North route starts at the public works facility on Slater Road and proceeds on Broad Street through the Bethel Park High School campus, working its way along thoroughfares including Logan, Patterson, South Park, Bethel Church, Church, Horning, Baptist and Library roads.
Also beginning at public works, the South route starts on Brightwood Road, proceeding to Main Street, Irishtown Road, Clifton Road, Berryman Avenue, Kings School Road and other streets.
Live coverage of the parade will be featured on the municipality’s and BPTV’s Facebook pages.
Also, the annual Halloween Decorating Contest for Bethel Park residents continues through Oct. 31. One winner will be selected per ward. To nominate a home or for more information, email jdavin@bethelpark.net or call 412-831-6800, ext. 211.
Trick-or-treating is from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31. Residents wishing to participate in trick-or-treating should turn their porch lights on and those not wanting to participate can leave them off.
