Pittsburgh Botanic Garden in North Fayette hosts ‘Dazzling Nights Pittsburgh’ through Jan. 1
Pittsburgh Botanic Garden is blooming with a field of 2,000 illuminated flowers.
“Dazzling Nights Pittsburgh” is a winter display featuring a million lights throughout the garden.
Guests can stroll under dozens of handmade Moroccan lanterns hanging from the treetops, a new feature this year, and through a tunnel of giant stars. There is a walkway of interactive lights that illuminate when people step on them.
The Lotus Pond features 100 beacons of light. A 30-foot-tall stained-glass tree sparkles near the entrance.
And holiday music plays throughout.
The immersive holiday light display runs select nights through Jan. 1.
This is the second year for the show, which is bigger than last year, said Cole NeSmith, chief creative officer of Memoir Agency, in a statement. Pittsburgh Botanic Garden works with The Memoir Agency, headquartered in Orlando, Fla., for the creative aspects of the show.
“This year’s ‘Dazzling Nights’ brings more lights and additional interactive elements to Pittsburgh Botanic Garden,” said NeSmith. “Every yea,r ‘Dazzling Nights’ continues to grow for our guests. From proposals to family moments cherished for a lifetime, there is something for every age.”
A nighttime walk among the millions of lights throughout the gardens and woodlands connects everyone to nature, and that is what Pittsburgh Botanic Garden is all about, said executive Keith S. Kaiser in a statement.
Development director Beth Exton cited the experience of “being outside, walking in the brisk air to see the lights adds to the magic of the season.”
“Pittsburgh has many wonderful green spaces that can be underappreciated in the winter,” she said. “‘Dazzling Nights’ is the perfect reason to explore the natural beauty of our region.”
There are holiday-inspired treats available for purchase. The Pittsburgh Botanic Garden Welcome Center will be open, and guests can shop for nature-inspired holiday gifts in Forage & Finds.
Timed tickets start at $22 for adults and $19 for children ages 3-13. Children under 2 years of age are free.
Pittsburgh Botanic Garden is located at 799 Pinkerton Run Road, North Fayette. For more information, call 412-444-4464 or visit pittsburghbotanicgarden.org.
