Evolutionary Minded Wellness opens in former Primrose Flower Shop in Etna
Stressed out? A new business in Etna is providing wellness, de-stressing techniques and quiet spaces in the former Primrose Flower Shop.
“What I am offering are practical tools to reduce stress, such as color therapy, meditation and bioacoustic mats to bring you into a calmer state,” said Sharon DiMatteo, 55, of Aspinwall, a certified Reiki master.
Her business, Evolutionary Minded Wellness, offers a range of services and education to help patrons naturally de-stress. She said that her facility is unique in the region with its offerings.
DiMatteo will hold a grand opening on Feb. 26, from noon to 5 p.m., with food, beverages, mediation sessions and more. The business is located on the corner of Butler and Washington streets.
Patrons can book an appointment online on the center’s website, with some services starting at $33.
Evolutionary Minded Wellness is among more than 15 new businesses that have opened in Etna over the last couple of years, said Carl Funtal, president of the Etna Economic Development Corporation and owner of Cop Out Pierogies.
“We are very excited to add Evolutionary Minded Wellness to the repertoire of what Etna is becoming,” he said. “The business will serve residents of the borough and draw people from other areas because of its uniqueness.”
DiMatteo will offer a discounted student stress relief package for members of Generation Z.
“Having four children that are between the millennial and Gen Z age groups made me realize how stressed our kids are, and how the times we are in are affecting their mental health.”
She has tailored meditations and workshops for young people to better help them “better cope with everyday stresses without medications.”
For adults, the center will offer “vibrational healing,” an ancient Egyptian method for healing, among other services.
“My trip to Egypt inspired me to offer the services that I have in place here,” DiMatteo said. “I feel everyone would benefit from the services we offer here because so many people are stuck in overdrive and don’t know how to come down from it.”
