Friends of the Bethel Park Park Library members made a $10,000 donation to the institution they support, fittingly enough during September, Love Your Library Month in Allegheny County.

The money was raised through Friends of the library activities throughout the year, and the donation will go toward purchasing materials and equipment for the new Adult Programming Room.

Work on the room is in progress, and library executive director Christine McIntosh said she anticipates completion by the end of the year.

Equipment to be purchased includes:

• Sony 86-inch 4K Ultra Smart TV

• 60 commercial big-and-tall folding chairs

• 10 plastic folding training tables, 6 feet long

• Six wall-mounted racks

• Commercial vinyl sofa and love seat

• Archival local history collection

• Xerox scanner

Friends of the Library welcomes new members. The group meets the last Tuesday of each month in council chambers at the Bethel Park Municipal Building. This year’s officers are Mary Ann Raymer, president; Elaine Good, vice president; Jessica DiPrampero, secretary; and Fran Cort, treasurer.
