From Grand View to National Road, here are 3 Pa. scenic byways road trips worth taking
With many recreational activities and travel plans canceled because of the global coronavirus pandemic, a long, scenic drive is a great way to kick off the summer season. A great place to start are the three Pennsylvania Byways in our region. In all, Pennsylvania has designated 21 routes recognized for their scenic views, geological features and historic significance.
The Laurel Highlands Scenic Byway exposes the geology of the Laurel Mountains, including the Youghiogheny River Gorge. The Grand View Scenic Byway promises amazing views of Pittsburgh, while the National Road byway is steeped in French and Indian War history.
With routes that offer the best of Pennsylvania, be sure to keep your eyes on the road and enjoy the drive.
