Gun found in lunchbox at Pittsburgh school
A firearm was discovered inside the lunchbox of a preschooler recently at a Pittsburgh school, school officials said.
A spokesperson for Pittsburgh Public Schools told TribLive news partner WTAE on Wednesday that a staff member found a gun in a lunchbox belonging to a pre-K student at Pittsburgh Morrow in the city’s Brighton Heights neighborhood.
“The lunchbox and its contents were secured and turned over to School Police,” according to the statement.
Families of Morrow students were notified about the incident in a letter.
It is unclear when exactly the firearm was found.
