A man with a gunshot wound walked into a Pittsburgh hospital Thursday afternoon after police had received reports of nearly three dozen gunshots being fired in the West Oakland area.

Officers went to the area of Ellers Street between Whitridge Street and Passage Way just before 3 p.m. after getting three separate alerts for 31 rounds being fired, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

Witnesses said they saw a white car fleeing the scene. Multiple shell casings were found in the area.

About an hour later, a man — who police did not identify — walked into a hospital with a gunshot wound to his arm. He was last listed in stable condition, police said.

The man was uncooperative with officers about where he had been shot, police said.

Detectives were investigating both incidents, which police said may be related.
