More than 350 volunteers participated in the April 13 Etna-Sharpsburg Earth Day Challenge 2019. Officials challenged the groups to spruce up their respective boroughs, with the winner claiming rights to the inaugural Earth Day Mayor’s Cup. In the end, both groups filled a 30 cubic yard dumpster, though Sharpsburg won this category, because its container was more full. The two boroughs tied, overall.
