In brief: Comedy fundraiser, Bethel Art Guild

Comedy fundraiser

Beat the winter doldrums and attend a night of comedy at the Bethel Park Community Center at 6 p.m. Jan. 29.

The Fifth Annual Funny Fundraiser, hosted by comic David Kaye, will feature well-known comedians Tom Anzalone and Matt Wohlfarth.

The event, sponsored by the Bethel Park Historical Society and Bethel Park Recreation, includes a 6:45 p.m. Pasta Too buffet dinner along with soft drinks and mixers before the 8 p.m. show.

Gift basket and 50-50 raffles also will be held along with other surprises.

The event is BYOB and benefits the Bethel Park Historical Society and Bethel Park Recreation.

A $25 donation per ticket is being requested; tickets are available by calling 412-851-2910 or stopping by the Community Center at 5151 Park Ave. in Bethel Park.

Bethel Art Guild

Dawn Johnson of “Cool Aunt Designs” will be the guest speaker at Bethel Art Guild’s Feb. 3 meeting. Johnson is a contemporary artist whose goal is to add color and joy to your life through her paintings. She uses abstract thoughts, ideas, shapes and forms with mediums of acrylic, watercolor and her new passion, alcohol inks, to achieve her goal.

The light lunch, business meeting and guest speaker will take place at 12:30 p.m. at the Bethel Park Community Center.

All artists and those who want to be artists are welcome to attend.
