Class of 2023 graduation

The Bethel Park High School Class of 2023 graduation will be held 7 p.m. June 8 at Black Hawk Stadium. Everyone is invited to attend.

Priority entry is available to family members of graduates from 5:30 to 6 p.m. General admission entry starts at 6:15.

Blocked-off handicap parking will be near the entrance to the stadium, located by the athletic entrance of the high school. People can be dropped off at the Purkey Field entrance for a flat walk to the stadium.

Inside the stadium, handicap seating and wheelchair access will be available along the railings at the top of the bleachers on the home side of the field. Similar arrangements are available in parts of the stands on both sides.

Memorial Day events

The American Legion’s annual Memorial Day Parade and Cemetery Service begins with coffee and donuts at 7:30 a.m. in council chambers, followed by a ceremony at 7:55 at the Veterans Memorial Plaza in front of the Bethel Park Municipal Buidling, 5100 W. Library Ave. Jorge Zarate will be the keynote speaker.

After the ceremony, the parade begins at the municipal building and concludes at Bethel Cemetery, where a service will be held. A luncheon at the Bethel Park Community Center will follow the service for those who participated in the event. The luncheon is sponsored by the municipality, American Legion Post 760 and the Jugo Club.

The public is encouraged to attend and participate in honoring our veterans.

Vacation Bible school

South Hills Church of the Nazarene, located at 5601 Library Road in Bethel Park, will host a “Keepers of the Kingdom” vacation Bible school on July 17-21 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Attendees will be offered a complimentary light meal at 6 o’clock, before the start of VBS. Children who have completed kindergarten through sixth grade in the 2022-23 school year are encouraged to participate.
