There will be food, games, light displays and a fireworks finale.

McCandless Police will continue to collect non-perishable food items for the North Hills Community Outreach through mid-December. The collection box is in the lobby of the police station.

Food items needed include: chunky soups, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, canned fruit, canned beans (such as kidney, navy, black, etc.), canned meals (such as ravioli and SpaghettiOs), shelf-stable juices, pasta sauce, boxed sides (such as scalloped potatoes, rice and Hamburger Helper).

Please do not donate expired foods.

Bradford Woods

Franklin Park

Franklin Park is offering residents a way to recycle old string lights by placing them in a bin in the upper lobby of the Municipal Building, courtesy of Michael Brothers Hauling & Recycling.

Michael Brothers has partnered with Project Bundle-Up for their Annual Christmas Light Recycling Drive.

Proceeds from the light recycling program benefits Project Bundle-Up. All funds raised will provide children and seniors with new winter outerwear. The bin will be available to Franklin Park residents through December.

McCandless Democratic Committee

In November and December, the McCandless Democratic Committee will collect for the Veterans Leadership Program. Committee members are collecting new sweatshirts and sweatpants for men and women, and packaged briefs, boxers and T-shirts for men.

The program is a nonprofit organization that provides housing, employment assistance and other vital services to get veterans back on their feet.

The collection bin will be in the McCandless Town Hall lobby, 9955 Grubbs Rd.
