North Park history

Historic Structures of North Park will be Longvue Acres Garden Club’s October program.

Allegheny County Park Ranger, Deaglan McManus, will review the unique historic structures that are hidden in plain sight in nearby North Park. The program begins at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 24, at Northmont United Presbyterian Church, 8169 Perry Highway, McCandless.

Programs are on the fourth Tuesday of the month and are free and open to the public. For more information contact longvueacresgardenclub1950@gmail.com.

Sealarks

Sealarks Women’s Group will meet at Nov. 8 at 1 p.m. at Memorial Park Church, 8800 Peebles Road, McCandless.

The program is “Pittsburgh Makes Merry — Guilded Age Holiday Traditions” by Sue Morris.

The group provides Christian fellowship and social activity for women alone. All women alone ar welcome to attend and consider joining the group. Meeting is free for members and $2 for guests. Contact Edie at 412-487-7194 for more information.

Trunk and Treat

Hampton Presbyterian Church will hold a Trunk and Treat on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 2-4 p.m. in the lower parking lot and adjoining field. This event is open to the community, so friends are welcome.

Trunk participants: Decorate the backs of your cars for Halloween, dress up in fun costume if you wish, load up on candy to pass out, and come to the HPC parking lot by 1-1:30 p.m. for trick-or-treating from car-to-car.

Kids can dress up in costume, trick or treat, play games, and get candy, while the grownups socialize. Participating kids are asked to sign up by Oct. 24th on our webpage www.hamptonpresbyterian.net/events.
