Hall of Fame noms

The Pine-Richland Athletic Hall of Fame is seeking nominations for its Class of 2024.

The Hall of Fame honors and recognizes those associated with Pine-Richland athletics who have experienced significant accomplishments. Nominations will be accepted through April 30 in these categories:

• Athlete — must have attended Pine-Richland and have been out of school for a minimum of 10 years.

• Coach — nominees must no longer be coaching and can be nominated for participation with Pine-Richland athletic teams only.

• Contributor — a member of the staff or community who has developed and fostered growth in Pine-Richland athletics. The nominee does not need to live within the Pine-Richland community. No waiting period is required.

• Team — recognized for significant achievement, growth or challenges. The team must be made up of members who attended Pine-Richland and have been out of school for a minimum of 10 years.

Notary service at Northern Tier

Northern Tier Regional Library will host Notary Public Donna Herrle to notarize documents from 9:30 to 11 a.m. April 12.

She is with Notary in Your Neighborhood, which provides a full-time mobile notary service that travels to your location. Services include affidavits, verifications, acknowledgements, power of attorney, wills and medical directives.

No motor vehicle, T-plate or Department of Motor Vehicle Services can be notarized during the library event. If your document requires witnesses, call the library at 724-449-2665 to be put in touch with Herrle before the program.

You must bring all necessary documentation and valid identification, including original Social Security card, nonexpired passport, nonexpired state photo ID and nonexpired driver’s license. The latter are not required to be issued by Pennsylvania.

While there is no fee for the program, there is a suggested donation of $1 to $20. Registration is requested, but walk-ins are welcome.

VFD to host Monte Carlo Night

Richland Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual Monte Carlo Night fundraiser from 7 p.m. to midnight April 27 at the VFD social hall, 5857 Meridian Road.

A $20 donation includes admission, food and beverages. No one under 21 and no outside beverages are permitted. In addition to games of chance, a 50-50 drawing and Chinese auction baskets will be featured. Proceeds benefit the department’s general and building funds.

Pine Earth Day event

An Earth Day event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 27 at the Pine Community Center, 100 Pine Park Drive. Everyone is welcome.
