Plant sale

Time to trade your winter gloves for your gardening gloves and spruce up your garden at the Shaler Garden Club’s 68th annual plant sale from 9 a.m.-noon May 7 at the Kiwanis Park on Wetzel Road in Glenshaw. Hardy perennials from members’ gardens will be offered at bargain prices, along with herbs, vegetables, houseplants, potted arrangements and bulbs. A fabulous basket auction will add to the festivities. Come rain or shine. Proceeds benefit community projects and philanthropic donations of the Shaler Garden Club. For more information or any updates on the event, visit shalergardenclub.com.

Yoga in the park

Yoga in Kiwanis Park will take place from 8-9 a.m. Saturdays May 7 through Oct. 15. Days and times are subject to change depending on the weather. For more information, visit shaler.org.

Polar Plunge

Start the pool season early by jumping into Crawford Pool before the summer even begins. Participants can pay a fee that will go towards the Shaler Area School District Backpack Initiative, and take a dip on May 14 from 1-3 p.m. For more information, email mcrawford@shaler.org.

Bike Rodeo

Shaler, Etna and Millvale police departments, along with Shaler Hampton EMS, will hold a Bike Rodeo from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. May 21 at Kiwanis Park. Children will be fitted for and receive a free bike helmet, learn about safe riding, and can enter a free raffle to win a new bicycle. For more information or to register, visit shaler.org.
