Letter to the editor: Pine Township, Pine Richland School Board meetings shouldn’t be held at same time

I am a resident of Wexford and live within the jurisdiction of Pine Township. I am also the parent of a student in the Pine Richland School District.
I am very interested in the agendas, discussions and decisions of both the board of supervisors and the Pine Richland School Board. I prefer, if possible, to attend such meetings in person. Yet, on nine separate occasions in 2021 alone, the Pine Township board of supervisors and Pine Richland School Board held their main meeting on the same evening and at the same time. Obviously, this makes it impossible to attend both events live. Instead, I am forced to choose which civic right I can exercise.
I find it hard to believe that I am the only resident this affects or concerns. I did bring the matter to the attention of both the township and school board, neither of which seems particularly inclined to change their meeting schedule.
Surely this can and should be worked out.
