Pittsburgh police announced Friday that fugitive wanted on felony gun charges was apprehended the previous morning with the help of a SWAT team.
Pittsburgh Public Safety said city police’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit and a SWAT team executed an arrest warrant for
Donald Hines Jr., 19, in the 400 block of West Elizabeth Street.
A police spokeswoman said Hines barricaded himself inside the house before surrendering without further incident.
“Additional search warrants obtained by police resulted in the recovery of a fully automatic pistol modified with a switch and extended magazine and quantities of heroin and crack cocaine,” the spokeswoman said in a news release.
Hines is charged with firearms and narcotics violations.
He is being held in the Allegheny County Jail.
