Kyle Chandler, Jeremy Renner and Taylor Handley star in the Paramount+ series “Mayor of Kingstown.”

Filming for the streaming series “Mayor of Kingstown” will affect traffic near Riverview Park on Wednesday, officials said, and shut down streets in other parts of the city throughout the week.

The inbound side of Riverview Avenue in Perry North will be closed from the playground to Riverview Drive from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., though the playground and pool remain open and accessible.

Also on Wednesday, there will be sporadic delays from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Brighton Road from Woods Run to Schimmer Street.

Officials noted that the filming will include “precision driving and scenes involving recreation of firearms.”

On Thursday in the Strip District, Penn Avenue will be closed from 14th to 16th street, and 15th Street will be closed from Penn Avenue to Smallman street from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. There could be delays on 16th Street, officials said, though they’ll last no more than two minutes.

On Friday, Eckert Street will be closed between Geyer and Beaver avenues in Marshall-Shadeland from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. McClure Street will also be closed from Eckert to Woods Run Road.

The Mayor of Kingstown, currently filming for its second season, is a Paramount + series set in Michigan. The crime drama focuses on the incarceration industry in Kingstown and centers themes around racism, inequality and corruption.
