Allegheny County Police have arrested a Monroeville man on charges that he fatally shot the mother of their child in a Baldwin Borough apartment earlier this month.

Adelin Itongwa, 22, is being charged with criminal homicide and endangering the welfare of a child in the death of Ramiah Griffin, county police spokesman Jim Madalinsky said.

Police arrested Itongwa on Wednesday and took him to the Allegheny County Jail where he was awaiting arraignment on the charges, Madalinsky said.

Baldwin police were dispatched at about 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 9 for a shooting in the 5400 block of Youngridge Drive.

Police found Griffin, 20, of Baldwin, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Madalinsky said. She died at the scene.

Griffin and Itongwa’s 1-year-old child was found unharmed in an adjacent room.

Detectives used witness interviews and surveillance video to identify Itongwa, Madalinsky said.
