Police say a person stole these guns from a Dunham’s Sports store in Monroeville on Aug. 31.

Federal and local police are searching for a person who they say stole three guns out of Dunham’s Sports in Monroeville in August.

The Philadelphia division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is offering a $5,000 reward to whoever leads police to an arrest.

Police say a person who was masked and hooded in dark clothing broke into the Dunham’s store at 3700 William Penn Hwy. on Aug. 31 while the store was closed in the early-morning hours. The person broke through an upper window of the store, police said.

Police could not describe the suspect beyond the clothing the person wore.

Once inside, surveillance video shows the person using a hammer to smash a display case that held guns for sale. The person took two shotguns and a rifle.

“The individual then left through another broken window at the front of the store with all three firearms,” the ATF said in a news release.

Monroeville police Chief Doug Cole was not immediately available to comment.

Police have asked anyone with information about the crime to call the ATF at 1-888-283-8477 or the Monroeville Police Department at 412-856-1111.

Anonymous tips can be sent to the ATF’s website or through the Reportit app, an anonymous hotline service.
