Early dismissal at Gateway High School following bomb threat

Gateway High School dismissed students early Friday morning after a bomb threat was reported, school officials said.
The school received a Safe2Say Something alert Friday morning indicating that a threatening social media post has been circulating in Western Pennsylvania. The threat didn’t specify a school district or school, according to district officials.
Officials deemed that threat to be a hoax.
The Gateway High School principal received another follow-up Safe2Say alert Friday that was specific to the school. That threat said a bomb was placed in the building.
The high school’s administration swiftly evacuated the building, school officials said.
Monroeville police are coordinating a sweep of the building.
Gateway High School students will be dismissed at 11 a.m. when buses arrive at the building to allow authorities to clear the site.
The school district and police department were not immediately available for further comment.
