TGIFriday’s in Monroeville briefly caught fire on Friday, June 21, 2024. First responders extinguished the fire in about 10 minutes.

No injuries were reported during a brief fire at the TGIFriday’s in Monroeville, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.

Part of the building was charred, leaving holes on the side of the building’s second floor.

Employees told WTAE there wasn’t fire in the kitchen, but the building began filling with smoke.

“The majority of the fire and damage is to the outside of the building,” Monroeville VFC No. 1 Chief Jason Sonafelt told WTAE. “There’s a little bit of smoke damage (inside), but nothing tremendous.”

The fire was knocked down in about 10 minutes, officials said.

The restaurant is on Mall Boulevard in Monroeville.
