The Chabad Jewish Center of Monroeville will host a former competitive figure skater for its Guest Lecture Series on Jan. 8.

Mor Greenberg, who blogs at sugarfreecoating.com, will give a talk, “Journey on Thin Ice” about her life as a competitive figure skater who was born in Israel and grew up in Sydney. She now blogs about everyday life as a mother of four and a wife.

“My favorite quote is ‘Life doesn’t always turn out how you plan, sometimes it turns out better.’ Well, my life is pretty … average now, and I couldn’t wish for more,” she writes on her website, which features articles for “Jewish women of all backgrounds.”

According to her website, Greenberg regularly gives talks for various Jewish organizations.

Greenberg’s talk will begin at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 8 at the Chabad of Monroeville, 2715 Mosside Blvd. Light refreshments will be served. Tickets cost $5 and sponsorships are available starting at $180.
