Cavitt Road in Monroeville has reopened after nearly 12 weeks of being closed.
The municipality’s Nixle alert system sent a notification to users Sunday morning with the announcement.
The two-mile road was closed March 13 after a Monroeville engineer said the road was “slipping more than it should.”
The road initially was expected to open within a few days, but closed indefinitely March 22 because officials were looking into whether the issues could be fixed in-house or if work needed to be bid out.
Municipality officials said in April they were working with its geotechnical engineers, Robinson-based Garvin Boward & Bieko, to determine how Cavitt Road will be repaired after water caused the road to shift.
Tim Little, Monroeville’s manager, was not immediately available to comment.
