A Turtle Creek woman has been charged with intentionally setting a fire Thursday at apartments on the 9o0 block of Lynn Avenue.

Five people were inside the two apartments at the time of the fire.

No injuries were reported, but Allegheny County Police said investigators noted a strong scent of gasoline and an oily substance in the apartment occupied by Cynthia Grayson, 55, of Turtle Creek.

Police said they determined through additional interviews that Grayson intentionally started the fire. A family of four was in the neighboring apartment at the time the fire began.

Grayson was charge with four felony counts of arson and four counts of reckless endangering.

She was denied bail and taken to the Allegheny County Jail. A Jan. 14 preliminary hearing is set in Judge Scott Schricker’s Duquesne court.
