Morning Roundup: Detectives investigate East Carson vape shop robbery; Pittsburgh officer assaulted serving warrant

Pittsburgh Public Safety is asking for the public’s help in identifiying these suspects in relation to a robbery that occurred Dec. 13, 2023, at Keystone Vapers at 2304 E. Carson St.

Detectives seek vape shop robbery suspects

Pittsburgh’s Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred in mid-December at a vape shop along East Carson Street in the city’s South Side.

Two individuals were captured in photos tied to a robbery at Keystone Vapers around 5:30 p.m. Dec. 13, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

Anyone with information on the individuals can call 412-323-7161 to reach the detectives.


Police say East Huntingdon home burglarized

Pennsylvania State Police said more than $5,000 worth of items were stolen from an East Huntingdon residence off of Route 31.

The unidentified actor or actors entered a 46-year-old man’s home sometime between 7 p.m. Dec. 20 and 11 a.m. Dec. 27, according to state police. No arrests have been made, Trooper Cliff Greenfield said.

Stolen were a chainsaw, table saw, crossbox, rechargeable tool battery, various hand tools, comic books, surveillance cameras, a crate of toys and $200, police said.


Pittsburgh officer assaulted after serving warrant

A Pittsburgh police officer was punched in the face while serving a warrant in the 400 block of Fairywood Street early Tuesday morning.

The officer arrived at the residence just before 4 a.m. to serve a 302 warrant, intended to perform an involuntary psychiatric examination. EMS evaluated the officer at the scene, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

The suspect was taken into custody and transported to a hospital.
