Teen found shot along Wood Street
Pittsburgh police are investigating after a teen was found shot late Sunday along Wood Street, just near Downtown’s public safety center.
Officers responded at about 11 p.m. to the 400 block of Wood, where they found a 19-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the groin, according Pittsburgh Public Safety.
He was taken by Pittsburgh EMS in stable condition to a hospital.
The victim told police that the shooting happened on Smithfield Street.
Officers have not yet determined the crime scene but are reviewing video footage.
Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.
Rideshare driver shot in Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar
A man told Pittsburgh police he was shot in the hand and thigh by a passenger who tried to steal his car early Monday morning.
The victim came to the Zone 5 station off Washington Boulevard at about 1:15 a.m. after the attempted carjacking.
He told officers that he drove two men to Gladefield and Oberlin streets in Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar when one of the passengers pulled a gun and tried to steal his car. When he resisted, the suspect shot him, the man told police.
The victim said he was able to escape and drove himself to the station.
Officers rendered aid until medics arrived and took the victim a local hospital. He was reported to be in in serious but stable condition.
According Pittsburgh Public Safety, a one-round ShotSpotter alert was registered near the location of the reported incident.
Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.
Police seek help to find missing teen
Pittsburgh police are asking for help in locating a 12-year-old boy.
Jeremiah Beywas was last seen wearing red and black pajamas, a red Nike T-shirt, blue puffy coat and white crocs. He was carrying a book bag with a mouth design, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.
Jeremiah is described as 5-foot-4 tall, weighing about 120 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.
He is known to frequent the Hill District.

Police search for missing girl
Pittsburgh Special Victims Unit detectives are searching for a missing 12-year-old girl last seen at her home in the Hill District.
Te’Aja Parrotte left her home on Junilla Street on Saturday wearing a black shirt, possibly red Coca Cola pants or blue jeans and carrying a gray backpack.
She is described as 4-foot-5 tall and weighing about 115 pounds. She has brown eyes and black hair styled in two “puff balls” with a scarf, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.
Te’Aja is known the frequent the Hill District and likes to go to the library.
