Police seek man who shot at officers in Penn Hills
Allegheny County Police are seeking help from the public in finding a Wilkinsburg man who they said shot at Pittsburgh police Thursday morning in Penn Hills.
Pittsburgh detectives were investigating Darrell Barham, 40, at 5:30 a.m. Thursday at a home along Newfield Drive when authorities said he spotted them. The detectives had a court order to do surveillance on Barham’s vehicle, county police said.
The detectives left the area in an unmarked vehicle and saw Barham was driving behind then. As they traveled on Hulton Road near Iowa Street, the detectives reported hearing multiple gunshots and saw muzzle flashes coming from Barham’s vehicle, county police said. Authorities did not say if anyone was hurt.
An arrest warrant was issued for Barham. He was charged Thursday with aggravated assault, weapons violations and related offenses.
Police said Barham should be considered potentially armed and dangerous.

6-month road closure to impact drivers in Jefferson Hills
Coal Valley Road in Jefferson Hills will be closed for about six months starting Monday, according to Pennsylvania Turnpike officials.
The closure is related to the construction of the turnpike’s Mon/Fayette Expressway project. A 4-mile detour will take motorists on Routes 885 and 837 in Jefferson Hills and Clairton. Coal Valley Road could reopen in April.
The current phase of construction under a $214 million contract on the Mon/Fayette Expressway will extend the highway 3 miles from Route 51 to Coal Valley Road.
